Table of Tales By The Malaka Book Club

Apr 28

It all started with a simple thought, books are always better when shared.

At Malaka Spice, Ilvika found herself wanting more than just a quiet reading experience. She wanted conversations. Different perspectives. Around the same time, Vishal from Pagdandi shared the same instinct. A mutual love for Unreasonable Hospitality brought them together, but the idea quickly grew into something more.

That’s how the Malaka Book Club took shape.

But it didn’t feel right to keep it like any other book club.

This is not a room where people sit politely and take turns speaking. This is a space where conversations flow freely. Where hot takes are welcome and the discussion can take unexpected turns.

Over time, the community gave it a name that felt just right, Table Of Tales.

Because here, stories don’t just stay on the page, they move to the table.

Every month, a book is picked. It could be something thought-provoking, something comforting, or something that sparks debate.

And then, there’s the meal.

Each gathering is paired with a three-course experience, thoughtfully inspired by the book of the month. Add a glass of wine to that, and you have an evening that’s as much about connection as it is about cuisine.

Some books start making more sense after you’ve heard someone else’s take. And sometimes, the food might just steal the spotlight, no promises there.

Table Of Tales is, at its heart, a growing community. A mix of readers, thinkers, and curious minds who show up each month for something a little different. It’s not about how fast you read or how deeply you analyse. It’s about showing up, being part of the conversation, and enjoying the experience.

If you have an appetite for reading, this might just be your kind of table.
